B Complex Can Trample Sugar Cravings – So Why Doesn’t It Work Sometimes?

Liquid B complex is the only Nutritional Magic I know of. You can stop the sugar craving in a few minutes. But every now and then people tell me they tried it and it didn’t work. How is it possible?

Careful questioning revealed some common reasons that prevent the B complex from working effectively. This is what I found out.

Do not use liquid B complex

The liquid formulation seems to accelerate the effect so that we can feel it in a few minutes. Tablets take longer and may be good for regular supplementation, but a “craving emergency” is best treated with liquid B.

If you already take a B-complex tablet daily, you can safely add B liquid on a day you have cravings. On the other hand, if you have used the B liquid on a whim before taking your usual dose of B, there is no reason to take the tablet that day.

A one-day “overload” of B vitamins will not be harmful, but is best avoided regularly. (If you have any questions, ask your doctor.)

Taking B12 instead of B complex

For reasons I have never been able to understand, people misinterpret “B complex” as “B12”. It is possible that this dates back to the earlier practice of receiving B12 injections for energy.

Whatever the reason, B12 is only one part of the complete complex, and not even the most important B vitamin for controlling cravings. However, this misinterpretation has occurred so frequently, I now immediately clarify every time I recommend complex B to a client.

So again, use LIQUID B COMPLEX. Not tablets, not B12, not any other individual B vitamins.

Eat no protein

When this mistake is made, it is usually made by people who have not worked with me as clients. All my clients know that I emphasize the importance of protein.

Protein is a key element in the plan to kill the craving. The B vitamins work as catalysts to help form specific brain chemicals. Those chemicals can kill cravings (and prevent them) when they’re at optimal levels. But brain chemicals are made of amino acids, which we learned in seventh grade biology as “the building blocks of proteins.”

We cannot produce the necessary brain chemicals without protein.

Discarding the sugar first

If you’ve eaten half a bag of cookies, don’t expect the B vitamins to stop you from eating the other half. The neurochemical changes that cookies have set in motion are powerful, and even more powerful for some people than others.

For reasons beyond the scope of this article, those brain changes will likely make you want the rest of the cookies.

Suffice it to say, there is simply no way that a teaspoon of liquid B complex can negate the strong effects of any sugar you just ate. The most helpful idea is to use B vitamins to stop the craving and not eat the cookies in the first place.

I will include a note in the margin. If you find the cookies too easy to reach because they’re at home and they’re conveniently located in your kitchen cabinet, do yourself a big favor: Don’t store cookies in your kitchen. Throw the ones you have. Do not buy more.

It works if you work it

Liquid B Complex is still the only nutritional magic I know of. It is effective; it’s fast. But it is not an independent miracle. It is best used as part of a sincere attempt to reduce sugar in the diet.

Keep in mind that B vitamins are a short-term solution to stopping sugar cravings. Getting rid of cravings permanently requires dietary changes.

And yes, changing your diet can virtually eliminate cravings. Think of the freedom it could mean to you.
