Mumbai people love food and life and that can be clearly seen in the way they cook food. From pani puris to kebabs, Mumbai is a city of millions of street vendors.
Below is the list of my favorite street food in Mumbai:-
panipuri
If you love to have sweet and sour food combination then Mumbai Pani puri is the best you can have. In this, the vendors use a crunchy fried sphere in which the potato, chickpea and sprout filling is made. After that, they soak it in a liquid that is a mix of exotic ingredients like tamarind, jaggery, mint, and spices.
It tastes fantastic and you have to eat it whole in one sitting.
Pav Bhaji
Pav Bhaji is a scrumptious dish that you can easily find on the streets of Mumbai. The Thick Vegetable Masala is served with fluffy buns that smell and taste amazing. I like my Pav Bhaji served with extra butter and lemon juice.
skewed skewers
The skewered kebabs hanging from the smoking stalls are a delicious sight. You just can’t not have them every time you visit Mumbai. Tender beef seekh kebabs are a must for all foodies.
pav vada
Vada Pav is Mumbai’s signature dish. It is a dish that is a favorite of almost every Mumbaikar. It’s basically a potato burger that is mashed with exotica, garlic and cilantro. It is then dipped in chickpea soil and fried golden.
This Vada is then placed between a well buttered Pav. Vada Pav is best served with green chutney.
bhelpuri
It is one of the most common street foods in Mumbai that has a sweet and sour crisp taste. It is a mixture of puffed rice, chopped onion and tomato, and tamarind chutney. It tastes amazing and should be eaten while strolling on the beach for the best experience.
Masala Kheema Pav
If you love minced meat then this is a must when you visit Mumbai. It is super tasty and spicy.
Chicken Tikka Rolls
Chicken Tikka Rolls taste best when served hot. Many street vendors sell these rolls and you just can’t get your fill of them because they are so delicious.
Channa Bhatura
Channa Bhathura is amazing and has a spicy taste. One bowl of Channa Bhatura is enough for one person. Take it with a sweet lassi.
dose
Dosa is a South Indian dish, but it is also very commonly sold on the streets of Mumbai. They are available in different varieties and are very delicious.
kala khatta
Kala Khatta is a must on a hot summer day. Available in different flavors, it is a favorite of children and adults alike.
