Home Remedies For Oily Hair: Get Rid Of It Effectively

Oily hair is a common problem faced by many men and women. This condition is mainly due to the excessive production of sebum by the sebaceous glands. Although sebum is essential for hair health, an excessive amount of sebum makes hair greasy and sticky. Factors that can contribute to oily hair include weather conditions such as severe heat or humidity, hereditary hormonal imbalances, increased androgen hormones, some medical conditions, use of hair styling products; frequent shampooing and conditioning, and excessive brushing and combing. If you have oily hair, you need not worry as this type of hair can be effectively treated with certain home remedies.

Apple cider vinegar is one of the best natural cures for this problem. It is beneficial for removing excess oils and chemicals from the hair. Add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water. After washing your hair, soak it with this solution. Then, rinse with lukewarm or tepid water. Lemon is also a good natural remedy for oily hair. Squeeze the juice of one lemon and mix it with a cup of water. Use this mixture to rinse. After that, wash your hair with lukewarm water. Take equal amounts of mouthwash and witch hazel, mix them together, and apply to your scalp using a cotton ball.

Another way to get rid of this problem is to apply beer after shampooing. Allow the beer to stay in your head for at least thirty seconds. Wash it off with lukewarm or tepid water. Baking soda can be used to treat this condition. Mix baking soda with water to form a paste and rub it through your hair. Let the baking soda sit on the hair for at least three minutes, and then rinse the hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Another way to use baking soda is to apply baking soda to the hair roots when the hair is dry. Brush your hair well to distribute the baking soda evenly throughout your head. Tea rinse is also one of the natural home remedies for oily hair. Make some tea and wait until it is completely cold. Soak your hair in the tea and use bread water to wash it.

Take a quarter cup of your usual shampoo and mix half a teaspoon of aloe vera gel and a tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply this mixture on your hair and leave it there for five minutes. Then wash your hair well. This is one of the recommended home remedies for oily hair. It usually does not require any conditioning. However, if you have dry or split ends, use a mild hair conditioner on the ends of your hair. Don’t use harsh shampoos on your hair. It is also best to avoid hydrating or moisturizing shampoos. Try to use a shampoo designed for oily hair. Avoid frequent brushing of the hair and the application of hair styling products such as gels and sprays.
