My own definition of money

Many people have defined money in different ways, your perspective of what money is matters. Your opinion on money has a lot to do with how you will live your life, for one thing, money is the only reason some people think they are living. They live and work for money, while the rich don’t work for money, because actually, money works for the rich. The true joy of living is making money work for you, so you don’t become a slave to money like many people are today.

Money is the reason why there is an increase in crime rate, many people are ready and can do anything even kill other human beings for money. They value money above the sanctity of human life, why do people value money above all things in life? What is it about money that gives you so much power that you have come to possess? Why is money considered to be next to God? Even our Lord Jesus Christ said: “Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Mammon is the god of money.

From the above statement, which came out of the mouth of our Lord Jesus Christ, it seems to me that people only serve two types of deities on earth, Almighty God or unjust riches. If you analyze it, you will find that this statement is true. With this point, I would like to define money according to my own understanding of it in light of what the Bible teaches.

Money is not the root of all evil as some erroneously believe, the Bible did not say so, what the Bible says is, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” When you love money and value it above anything else, then you are in bad deeds to get money by all means. Getting money by all means or planning to do so is bad and should be cut off by you and all the good citizens of this world.

Money is not everything, nor can money do everything. When I said that a few times ago, a guy responded with a quote from the Bible that says, “Money answers all things.” This statement is true and can be found in the book of Ecclesiastes 10:19 and I would like to quote it as it is written in the Bible: “For laughter there is a banquet, and wine makes glad, but money makes up for everything.” Here the preacher was talking about parties, (which is wine and dinner) and the role of money in it. It does not refer to all things in life, but to all things according to the banquet. Money can’t buy love, it can’t buy many other important aspects of life, this point by now, you should have realized.

Money is nothing more than the means of exchange of goods and services provided, it is the agreed legal tender acceptable in the nations of the world. We know this differs from country to country, therefore the British use British Pounds, the Americans use US dollars, etc. The world economy is harmonizing to the point that money has the same value wherever you go in the world. However, some currencies are stronger than others, but the purchase value is almost always equivalent. Money has advanced beyond the level of use of bank currencies, now money can come in the form of checks, electronic currencies, etc.

Money is neither good nor bad, it is what you make it. You can put it to good use, use it to help people and help change things for your own and other people’s good. At the same time, money can be used to destroy yourself or other people. For example, a man who has money but uses it to buy hard drugs is using the money in a bad way. A nation that uses its resources to produce weapons of mass destruction is using money in a very bad way and some may say that money is bad. So truly, now you know that money is neutral, neither good nor bad.
