Recently many websites are using WordPress. They install WordPress plugins to publish content on their website.

Why do you need content drip feed?

  • To make search engines keep coming back: Everyone knows that search engines love content-rich sites. So if you publish the content periodically, the search engines come back to crawl it and more pages of your website get indexed in the search engine’s database. Of course, how much of that content will actually be presented to a searcher is based on the quality of the content and the backlinks to the page. But providing the content to search engines is the first step in getting search engines crawled.
  • Member content: Some webmasters publish newsletters, video tutorials or member content slowly to their members for a certain amount of membership fee. The members then see the content based on their subscription date. In this way, you can control the amount of content a member sees based on their membership level, subscription fee, or subscription date.
  • Set and forget: When you go on vacation but still need to update your site or members area, you can feed articles into your software and update your site accordingly. This way you don’t have to go through the process manually. Most of these drip feed scripts use cron jobs to post the content. So you need to configure cron in your cpanel.
