The Ka-Bar Becker BK9 is at the top of my favorites list for one of the best survival knife options in the big knife category. The Becker BK9 is so well reviewed on the internet that it will be hard to find anything negative about this racket. The weight, construction, and price make it one of the best survival knife options for the money.

Why choose a large survival knife?
Some people like to carry a large survival knife and some don’t. It is a purely personal preference. I for one would rather be stuck in the wild with a large survival knife and have to carry its added weight, than have a knife that is easy to carry but can’t handle heavy duty cutting tasks like the BK9.
This knife is terrific for large chopping and slicing tasks. The 1060 carbon steel blade holds a sharp edge and is easy to sharpen. When I take this knife with me camping I never have to take an ax with me because the BK9 performs just as well or better than any field ax I have parted with. Having a large knife like this actually allows you to carry less equipment and therefore less weight.
The Ka-Bar Becker BK9 is super awesome and you’ll see it in the arsenal of the most seasoned outdoor survivor. I have seen this knife several times on survival shows like Man, Woman, Savage and Man vs. Man. wild. This is one of the best survival knives I have ever had the pleasure of testing.
