A homemade solar panel will really lower your energy bill!
One day I took a good look at my energy bill and then started building my first homemade solar panel to lower my bill. I saw that in 2005 I paid $2,100 a year for my electricity, which is a little more than the average household in the country ($1,900). In 2007, this grew to $2,700. Sound familiar? I really couldn’t afford that. I began to wonder how I could lower my energy bill. I found a professional solar contractor whom I asked to make me an offer on solar panels. I was shocked when they quoted me a price of over $26,000 for a basic solar installation on my home. Where solar systems only for people who already have the money, I wondered.
The payback time would be extremely long and you wouldn’t be able to pay a specialty contractor anyway. Even if I had been awarded federal support (up to 50% to install a PV system on your home in the form of tax credits and rebates, reduced permit fees, or cash back system, which depends on the state in which you have your house) was still too expensive for my family’s income. I started looking for good alternatives on the internet although I didn’t have much hope.
Then I found some manuals with good instructions that could help me make my own homemade solar panel. The guides were very helpful. I’m fine with the mechanical stuff, but I’m less comfortable with the electrical part of a home solar setup. And there her guide and instructions were of great help.
