How to train your body to burn a ton of calories while you sleep

If you’re like me, you like things that work on autopilot. I love cruise control on my truck and automatic bill pay. It makes life so much easier! But what if I told you that you could put your calorie burning on autopilot and train your body to burn calories while you’re sound asleep?

It’s definitely possible, but it does require a bit of motivation and pre-planning. You will have to do some work to train your body to burn extra calories 24/7. But it may not take as long as you think.

What I am talking about is your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR). This is basically your metabolism, which is how fast your body burns calories when you’re not exercising or active. So if you can increase your RMR, your body will burn calories ALL the time.

The way you increase your resting metabolic rate is by working out – hard. For maximum results, you will need to do a very intense weightlifting session for about 45-60 minutes. During your workout, you’ll want to focus on multi-joint lifts that move a lot of weight over long distances. This will break down muscle fibers and force your body to repair itself. This act of repair will increase your resting metabolic rate while your body sends tons of extra calories to repair muscle fibers.

You can expect your metabolism to stay high for 1-2 days after each workout, depending on how hard you push yourself. Knowing this, if you plan your workouts a day apart and lift weights 3-4 times a week, you will have effectively increased your resting metabolic rate 24/7.

Doing this will help you burn a lot of extra calories while sitting or sleeping, which means it will be easier for you to shed body fat at a rapid rate. To get the same results from jogging on a treadmill, you’d have to spend a ridiculous amount of time in the gym, running for your life.
