Shiba Inus are a lovely breed of dog. Small, brave, intelligent, energetic and loyal to the point of satiety. These puppies originated from Japan, in fact, they are the most popular dog breed in Japan. After learning a bit about them, it shouldn’t surprise you.
Shiba Inu dogs are small, in fact most people are surprised when they see them in person, as they are smaller than they appear in photos.
These little pups don’t bark much, preferring a soft, gentle howl, though when scared or just not getting their way, they do possess the dreaded “Shiba Scream.”
“Is your dog part fox?” That is a comment you have to get used to as well, they look very much like foxes. Their behavior is very cat-like, they are very clean and like to groom themselves and are very independent. I have heard that some Shiba Inu puppies have even been taught to use a litter box.
Shiba Inu puppies really are a handful, full of energy, curiosity, and headstrong. They love to chew, so have plenty of chews available for them. They will show a lot of love and will be faithful companions. Despite their small size, these dogs are alert, courageous and strong, making excellent watchdogs for their size.
