Stress, Accidents and Loan Policies

Poorly managed STRESS can cause accidents; directly as well as indirectly. Thus, the direct influence of STRESS is through undisciplined, irresponsible, careless, uncontrolled and fortuitous driving. The indirect influence of poorly managed STRESS is through ad hoc, populist, undisciplined, irresponsible, careless, uncontrolled and fortuitous decisions, plans, programs and their implementation.

It is true that at an early age; we feel like riding bikes, scooters, motorcycles and cars. There is a craze for riding and racing a vehicle. There is an attraction to speed.

(Horse, donkey, camel, elephant, and even buffalo riding are popular. But the number of animals is declining due to the incessant killing and eating of animals. Also, profit margins may not be as attractive as in vehicle industries and trades. Therefore, there is no promotion or exaggeration of these. Naturally, these wrinkles are rapidly dying out).

In general, the policies and programs of governments, industries, merchants, banks, advertisers and the entertainment industry; they revolve around natural and artificially created fashions (based on biological instincts and emotions). They revolve around the madness of riding, speeding and racing; regardless of its consequences! They revolve around glamour, glitz, pomp, style, trend, fashion and the “one up man” boat. They revolve around impressing others!

Thus; government policies, industries, businesses, banks, advertising and entertainment businesses; complement each other; in profiting from such follies and creating social danger and menace! Hence, there are policies of excessive importation and uncontrollably infinite production of automobiles, motorcycles, scooters, etc.; Promotion, provision of easy and soft loans, marketing, hype creation, style statement, fashion and artificially created and morbidly excessive hysterical demand!

This is the mishandled effect of STRESS on decision and policy makers, in different fields!

It leads to an excessive increase in personal vehicles, leading to all the STRESS of traffic jams, pollution; and accidents; despite the specific and piecemeal measures, such as the increase in traffic police, strict traffic regulations, the mandatory use of helmets, etc.!

The root of the problem viz. Complementarity and cooperation of forces; increase the number of private and personal vehicles on the road; in preference to public mass transportation vehicles; can be greatly outclassed by;

1) Proper production and promotion (in terms of quality and quantity) of mass transportation vehicles such as buses and readily available loans at low interest (easily affordable); for the purchase and use of buses compared to and in preference to private cars and two-wheelers

2) Normalization of the disastrously excessive production and promotion of private and personal vehicles, including two-wheelers.

This may have a certain rectifying influence in terms of preferential purchase of buses and management of public companies and private businesses of mass transportation (bus). The number of vehicles on the road would be reduced and major STRESSes would be largely overcome. The wellness cycle would begin.

Loan policy to reduce personal vehicles and promote mass transit vehicles; it is not merely complementary to all the precautions that every body associates with the automobile industry and road transport; such as car owners, drivers, pedestrians and traffic police must take. Also; be holistic and precise; the impact of this policy is much broader; than any individual, departmental or institutional precaution taken in isolation.

All done to reduce personal vehicles; and promote mass transportation vehicles; it is one of the globally beneficial decisions, policies, plans and programs; Total Stress Management (whose core is NAMASMARAN); and its propagation and implementation are also included in Total Stress Management.
