What to write on a gift tag

Gifts make people feel loved, and this applies not only to the recipient, but also to the giver. Giving gifts is something special and requires effort, time and, of course, money on the part of the giver. If you’re giving gifts, make sure the recipient can recognize and know that it’s you who gave them the item. Here are some things to put on your gift tag.

-The recipient’s name – This ensures that your gift will not be given or taken away by the wrong person. If you have exchange gifts where gifts are randomly placed on the table, or you have gifts placed under the Christmas tree, don’t rush, but you may want to make sure the recipient’s name is there.

-The giver’s name: Especially at events where the recipient will give thank-you notes later (such as weddings), be sure to include their name so it’s easier to refer to in the future. If you can handwrite your message or if you can handwrite the entire gift tag, then that’s even better.

-Your message – Write a short but meaningful and sincere message. You can use the basic greetings, but if you can insert a line or two of a personal message and what you really want to say to the recipient, then that’s even better. As for tips, make sure to write ‘Best Wishes’ instead of congratulations during weddings; but ‘Congratulations’ instead of good luck on graduation gifts. These two are the most common mistakes people make. While both mean well, some may think of an underlying message when you exchange the two greetings.

-The date on which the gift is delivered. Since some people save the gift tags they receive for sentimental reasons, be sure to write the date of the event itself, not the date you prepared them, especially if you prepared them days or weeks in advance.

On top of everything, remember to securely attach the gift tag to the gift. Even if you have the complete information, it would be useless if the tag was accidentally removed. Now that you have everything prepared, always remember that a smile and a greeting or personal wish from you that the recipient can hear is something that will complete the gift. So be sincere and make your greeting sincere because the material is something that can be easily bought while your thoughts and wishes is something that will make everything more special.

These tips apply to all gift-giving occasions, whether it’s a relative’s birthday, a co-worker’s wedding, or your boyfriend or husband. Remember that just because you’re already together or close, you don’t need to put gift tags on. Again, remember that some people will keep these labels for sentimental reasons.
