Why so much controversy about Robert Kiyosaki?

In this article I will review why there is so much talk about the Robert Kiyosaki fraud. Everyone has an opinion and I’m going to give mine. I will first summarize the facts about Robert Kiyosaki and his past. Next, I’ll talk about his achievements and why he rose to stardom. I’ll end with my thoughts on the ongoing buzz surrounding Robert Kiyosaki’s alleged fraud.

Robert Kiyosaki got his start in the business of importing nylon velcro wallets and built a multi-million dollar business. He ended up losing everything to copycats because he failed to patent their product and his brand.

In the mid-1980s he founded an educational company with the purpose of teaching his educational philosophy. He has educated millions upon thousands of students since the founding of his educational program.

Over the past 2 decades, Robert Kiyosaki has risen to virtual stardom as an author, motivational public speaker, and investor. He is considered by many to be an expert in personal finance, real estate, and business. Not a bad resume for a guy who did all of this before he was fifty.

But his greatest fame came after the release of his book Rich Dad Poor Dad. He has also written a series of books based on his experiences with Rich Dad. To this day, Rich Dad Poor Dad has sold over 17 million copies. He later came out with a board game called CashFlow 101 and his subsequent release CashFlow 202.

Robert Kiyosaki has been heavily criticized for giving bad advice to novice investors. The biggest criticism of him has been for his Real Estate advice. And while he has officially withdrawn from it, criticism continues for his presence as a media star and his continued involvement in education.

Now it’s my turn to give my opinion…

Robert Kiyosaki is excellent at giving hope and motivating people to want more from life. I also agree with his general philosophy on money and investing, although we may differ on some details. He is a master at putting things in simple terms. He is also a master of generalization.

But after hearing and reading his work, I had to ask myself, what was I going to do with all my motivation? What skills did I need to get to the top of the mountain that told me I was there? I realized on my own that I needed a plan.

I needed a system that would add tremendous value to my life and give me the skills to succeed. And I urge you to come up with a plan of your own to add value to yourself.
